Dotcom Meets Design at HD2001
2001-04-09 08:00:00 -0400 Attendees at HD 2001 were treated to an open discussion on technology and its place in hospitality design. Melanie Rose of Bill Communications moderated three panelists including Stacey Tiveron of TODL, Steve Kopke of Marriott International, and Paul Doherty of The Digit Group. The panelists offered insights to technology solutions available today and those being created for tomorrow. It was clear that all ends of the industry are looking to technology to assist in making their business processes more efficient. Presented to a packed room, attendees were able to interact with the panelists to address their concerns regarding the integration of technology into their design and manufacturing businesses. While some in the audience found the task daunting, Tiveron simplified the integration process stating 'If you are not technologically saavy, simply set aside some time every week to research the solutions that are available - there are several technology based tools that are quite valuable today and others that are being developed for the future. The most important point is that you start familiarizing yourself with the innovations that have been created for our industry and finding those that you can use to affect your bottom line.' It was agreed by all that the remainder of this year and into the future, our industry as a whole will not only continue to embrace the Internet and technology solutions, but that these solutions will soon become vital components of our everyday businesses. |
